9.11テロの日にあわせて毎年何かニュースが出ているのかもしれません。

難しいニュースなので、分からない。と言うのを止めて今日は英語のニュースを解読してみました。

Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri declares war on ISIS; rubbishes caliphate

In the tape, al-Zawahiri, who is in hiding with a $25 million USA bounty on his head, complained that Baghdadi had ignored Muslims suffering in Gaza and in Pakistan.

He dismisses al-Baghdadi as a pretender who declared himself caliph with the support of only “a few unknown people”, and established ISIS, which calls itself the Islamic State, “by force and with explosions and vehicle bombs”, instead of by “the choice of the people” through “approval and consultation”.

Terror group al Qaeda has “declared war” on fellow jihadists Islamic State, it is reported. “We do not acknowledge this Caliphate, and we do not see it as Caliphate on the prophetic method; instead, it is an emirate of taking over without consultation”, complains al-Zawahiri.

Another commentator said a battle between the two huge forces could be exploited by the United States as the Al Qaeda might make a move on the ISIS in celebration of the group’s 9/11 attacks.

Most of those with alleged connections to ISIS say their plans consisted of traveling to the Middle East, where they would join the caliphate.

The message by Ayman al-Zawahiri is proof to the emergence of the ISIS and how it has managed to overshadow all other established terrors groups, including the dreaded al-Qaida.

Zawahiri said “everyone was surprised” by al-Baghdadi’s declaration and he had done this “without consulting the Muslims”. With the USA attacking both, it may bring them into a marriage of convenience.

Meanwhile ISIS and al Qaeda remain deeply opposed to one another, with al Qaeda chief Ayman al Zawahiri just this week releasing a tape blasting ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Matthew Olsen, a counter-terrorism expert, told 6ABC that Al-Qaeda and ISIS will be “irreconcilably” divided by these remarks. “Since Baghdadi won’t [accept this] I don’t see a reconciliation but this tape suggests for the first time that they can cooperate on the ground despite differences”. When the U.S. invaded Iraq, JTJ shifted its focus to the insurgency and became known as one of the most brutal and bloodthirsty groups in it, but at least initially they were more interested in fighting Shi’ite militias than the US.

O’Neill suggested Al Qaeda’s newly released message is meant to increase its publicity and funding.

On 9/11, al Qaeda had its camps in Afghanistan; there was a jihadist presence in Algeria and the Caucasus and some budding militancy in the Arabian Peninsula.
