自分は何人か？

DNA検査はさておき、私は日本に関する本を結構読んだ時期があった。

最初は、昔のことを知るには、昔の人の書いたものを読むのが一番だと思って古書の写しを探したが、続き字が読めない・・。

それで、古文書の辞書を買って読むことにした。

昔の字はとてもいい加減で、みんな結構自由に書いていたということが分かった。

ひらがなの「あ」だけでも、３～５種類の字体がある。

村内だけに通じる手紙も多いんじゃないか？

ひらがな５０音表がないと、どういう字が「あ」なのかさえ判別できないんじゃないかと思った。

それで、途中で挫折。

楷書体の本は読みやすい・・。

ちょうど、その頃流行っていた本で、「逆説の日本史」という本があった。

作者は、本業は、ジャーナリストの人で、趣味の歴史の本を娯楽ついでに書いたそうだ。

本屋でも人気シリーズとして平積みされていて、手に取りやすかった。

歴史初心者には、面白おかしい位の話の方が、丁度よかったです。

その本には日本人のアイデンティティの根幹を成す要素が書かれていた。

それは、言霊と、怨霊信仰だ。

言霊とは、簡単に言うと、霊力を持った言葉のことだそうだ。

それまで、自分が、日本国の病院で生まれたということ以外、心の中には、自分が日本人であるという確固たる物は何一つなかった。

その本を読んで、私は、言霊と怨霊信仰を手に入れた。

そして、何となく日本人になった気がした。

記事のタイトルの、「水底の歌」、というのは「逆説の日本史」の中で紹介されていた本で、偶然図書館で見つけ、読むことが出来た。

太古の昔に、柿本人麻呂という歌人がいたそうだ。

彼の生涯は謎に包まれていて、不明な点が多いそうだ。それどころか、同時代に存在した「●●天皇」の存在すら証拠がない人が多いそうだ。

誰もその頃の日本のことを知らないのだと思うと、自分が立っているこの場所がどこなのか突然不安になる。

柿本人麻呂という歌人は、沢山の歌を書き残したそうだ。

その本では、「彼は実在の人物で、彼の遺体は、実は未だに、水の中に水没しているのではないか？

そして、その水の中から、古代の人は歌を伝え続けているのではないか？」と言っていた。

まず、現存している歌を読んで、本当にその時代に柿本人麻呂という人物が存在したことを信じるかどうかということだと思う。

そして、彼が沈んだ水は、いまもどこかに存在しており、歌聖の魂はその水の中に存在しているということを信じるかどうかということだ。

怨霊は現世に残した悔しい思いを晴らすと消えてしまう存在だそうだ。

ところが、柿本人麻呂は”神”なので、永遠の存在になった。彼は、ずっとこの世界にいるということだ。

彼の和歌は永遠の存在だ。

・・といっても、実は、どんな歌なのかよく知らないままだ。

検索したところ、よく知っている人がいて、歌を紹介していたので、それをこぴぺさせてもらった。

彼の歌は百人一首にものっている。こちらは、読めますよ。

あしびきの　山鳥の尾の　しだり尾の　ながながし夜を　ひとりかも寝む

枕詞の単語帳に出てきた歌だったー。

確か、あしひきは山にかかるそうです。

高校の頃、初めて習ったときに、「枕って頭を乗せる物だよねー？」って思って以後ずっとそのままです・・。

尾の長い鳥のつがいは向きあっている。

つがいの鳥の尾の描く弧は山の稜線にも似ている。

鳥は食べたら美味しいけど、美しい尾に頭を横たえ眺めながら1人で寝るのもいい。

キレイに描かれた尾羽の模様が、1人の寂しさを紛らわせてくれる。

じゃあ、どういう枕よ？とか思ったのでした。枕詞・・難しい。

古代の歌は、楷書体になっていて、字は読めるのですが、本当に意味は不明です。

枕詞のことを知れば、さらに日本人になれるのかもしれませんー。

そして、美しい枕に頭を横たえて・・寝るときのことを、歌に詠む！

そんな感じかな？

怨霊信仰も忘れずに！

それから、ごみが風に運ばれて来たら掃除機で掃除！

言霊は・・使いこなすのは至難の業でしょう。
