しかし、このことからイタリア、フランスがギリシャにおける王党派復活を口実に、
トルコのムスタファ・ケマルとの和平交渉を行なわせてギリシャの拡大を阻止しようとした。

そしてイタリア・フランスは以前とはちがい、トルコへの武器提供を行い、イギリスは口でギリシャへの励ましを送りはしたが何も与えようとはしなかった。
